Mike Harmeyer

Mike attended college at the University of Evansville, and Harlaxton College in Grantham, England, before moving on to law school at the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his juris doctorate degree.

As an undergraduate, Mike was awarded an internship with the British law firm of Peake, Snow & Jeudwine.  Later, following his second year of law studies, Mike completed a clerkship at the Miami, Florida law firm of Blackwell, Walker, Fascell & Hoehl, where he worked along with 120 attorneys in one of South Florida's largest firms.

After graduation, Mike returned to his hometown of Fort Wayne, where he spent the next several years representing the legal interests of numerous businesses and insurance companies, within the setting of a mid-size firm.  Eventually, in 1993, Mike's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish an independent law practice dedicated to serving the legal needs of Fort Wayne area businesses, families and individuals.

The widely-referenced Martindale Hubbell Law Directory has awarded Mike the highest ethical rating for "adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics, reliability, diligence and other criteria relevant to the discharge of professional responsibilities."  Mike has earned a score of "high to very high" in the directory's rating of "legal ability."

Over the years Mike has been active in professional organizations, including the Indiana State Bar Association, where he has participated as a member of the Board of Governors in leading the statewide activities of the group's 11,000 member attorneys.  He previously served as state chairman of the ISBA's 2,200 member Young Lawyers Section, often representing the Hoosier State as delegate to the national meetings of the American Bar Association.  Mike has written and spoken in areas of litigation and trial procedures, and recently served on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum (ICLEF), a non-profit organization providing advanced education and training to legal professionals throughout the state.

Away from the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.  Mike contributes to his community through service to non-profit and charitable organizations and is an active member of Southwest Lutheran Church.
